Meeting and pickup
It is located on the 2nd floor of the Manji Building, which has an izakaya called “YAOYA” on the 1st floor. In front of the building, you will find the rear entrance of the SK PLAZA Hotel. 当施設は「万字ビル」の2階にございます。1階には「YAOYA」という居酒屋が入っております。ビルの正面には「SK PLAZAホテル」の裏口がございます。
What to expect
First, you’ll hear a short explanation of the history of tea in Japan. You’ll also see how matcha is made using a traditional stone mill.
2. Watch a traditional tea ceremony and enjoy sweets
Next, a tea ceremony master will perform the traditional tea-making ritual, which has a history of over 500 years. You’ll then enjoy the freshly prepared matcha along with nerikiri, a traditional Japanese sweet.
3. Make your own matcha
Finally, you’ll have the chance to make your own bowl of matcha using traditional tools. You can also choose your favorite tea bowl from a variety of beautiful chawan (matcha bowls).
