Season in a Jar: Traditional Jam and Syrup-Making Workshop

2 hours 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: German and 1 more

Step into a warm Slavonian kitchen and slow down with us. In this intimate workshop, you won’t just cook — you’ll connect. Using seasonal fruit from our own family garden, you’ll learn how to make traditional Slavonian jam and fruit syrup the old-fashioned way: no rush, no shortcuts, no preservatives.

What makes this experience truly special is the feeling of making something real — from raw, imperfect fruit to a finished jar with your name on it. Whether it's sweet plum jam, fragrant quince syrup, or even savory tomato “jam,” everything reflects the rhythm of the season and the taste of home.

Perfect for food lovers, slow travelers & DIY enthusiasts.

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

A slow, sensory workshop in the heart of Slavonia – stir, simmer, bottle, and preserve the season with your own hands.
This is not just jam or syrup – it’s memory, time, and sunshine in a jar.

What to Expect:
Step into a kitchen where homegrown fruit becomes story. In this cozy hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to cook traditional Croatian jam and fruit syrup, slowly and with love – just like our grandmothers did.
All the fruit comes from our own garden, picked at peak ripeness and used the same day. Depending on the season, we might work with plums, apricots, quinces, berries, apples, tomatoes – even figs or herbs.
From washing and cutting to stirring and bottling, you'll experience the entire process – and take home your own labeled jars.

This is more than cooking. It’s about connection – to land, to tradition, and to each other.
