Visiting a Local Market ( Every Saturday especially day) I'll take a to a local market. Sri Lanka is a feast for the senses and a great way to experience the country's vibrant culture and daily life. You can find everything from fresh produce and fragrant spices to intricate handicrafts and delicious street food. Immerse Yourself in the Atmosphere: Observe daily life and interact with vendors. Interact with vendors: A smile and a simple "Ayubowan" (hello) can open doors to friendly conversations. Ask about the produce or the crafts they sell.
Hummanaya Blowhole. Drive to Kudawella village to witness the incredible natural spectacle of the Hummanaya Blowhole. Enjoy the scenic views, photograph, and explore the area. Watch the blowhole in action: The main attraction is, of course, witnessing the powerful spout of water. When the blowhole is active, a jet of seawater can shoot up to 25-30 meters in the air. The sound it makes, a "hoo" or a whoosh, is how it gets its name. For the most dramatic spouts, it's best to visit during high tide.
Wewurukannala Vihara Temple. Head inland to one of the most significant attractions in the area. This Buddhist temple is home to Sri Lanka's largest seated Buddha statue, standing at an impressive 50 meters tall. You can also explore the temple's fascinating paintings that depict scenes from the life of the Buddha. Important Visitor Information: Dress Code: As with all Buddhist temples, you must dress modestly. This means covering your shoulders and knees.
Roadside Stalls for a Coconut. I'll take you to local shop. These are often family-run and sell a variety of fresh fruits, including coconuts. Sri Lanka is famous for its coconuts, especially the "King Coconut," which is known for its refreshing and sweet water.
Visit a Souvenir Shop. Of your choice. When you visit a souvenir shop in Sri Lanka, especially in a tourist-friendly area like Dickwella, you'll find a variety of unique and locally made items that reflect the country's rich culture and heritage.
