What to expect

Did you know... Chalk streams like the River Chess are considered more rare than rainforests...

'Fewer than 300 chalk streams exist globally, and almost all are in Southern England'

9:30am pickup from nearby Stations (Amersham, Chesham, Little Chalfont, Chenies, Chorleywood) or an agreed pickup point close to the fishing locations in the Chess Valley

Paul Jennings, your local guide, will take you along a section of the River Chess, advising on suitable spots and speaking from experience.

Paul is Chairman of the River Chess Association and his connection with this section of the river is unrivalled. Monitoring the river’s fish during the breeding season can be valuable knowledge to fisherman.

12:30pm - There’s a tidy nook with your name on it.

Lunch will be catered for using local produce – Bread and sausage rolls from the local bakery (Rex), beer from locals breweries (Tring or Rebellion), local cheese, fruit and watercress from Sarratt. Honey will be available from a farm running near to the river.

Walking further up the river and testing fresh spots – there’s plenty more of the river to explore.
