Koyo Seiga is a kiln that has been producing traditional Japanese ibushi roof tiles for over 100 years.
At the factory, you can observe up close how traditional craftsmanship is combined with modern technology.
You can also try your hand at crafting an original photo frame using authentic tile materials.
Lunch is served at Kungin-Bettei, a tile-roofed Japanese residence located on-site. Here, you will enjoy a traditional onigiri (rice ball) set.
In the afternoon, visit Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. During the peak of spring, enjoy a guided tour through the cherry blossom-filled grounds while discovering how Koyo Seiga’s craftsmanship is reflected in the castle’s tile work and deepening your appreciation of Himeji Castle’s beauty and history.
We will meet you just outside the JR Himeji Station Central Ticket Gate. Our staff will be waiting there holding a pink sign with the “More-Himeji-Trip” logo.
