Cyclopean Fortress and Village Heritage Walk

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

Step into the past with a 9-kilometer guided tour through the living history of Lchashen—one of Armenia’s oldest continuously inhabited settlements. You’ll journey from the modern day all the way back to 5,000 years ago as you explore this culturally rich village on foot, by bicycle, or in a rugged off-road truck.

Your adventure includes a visit to a local Soviet-era home museum, a Christian church built atop a pagan temple, a Bronze Age burial site, and a cuneiform inscription left by Argishti I. You'll also stand in the shadows of a Cyclopean fortress dating back to the Etiuni kingdom. Throughout the tour, you’ll learn about the local lifestyle, historic transitions, and architectural layers that reflect thousands of years of civilization. This is a unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of kings, warriors, and villagers whose stories shaped this land.
