Join us for a fascinating 60-minute sake workshop at BAR OAGE in Kawaramachi, the heart of Kyoto.Starting with an introduction to the rich history of sake, students will visually learn the production techniques and the percentage of rice polished.Discover the individuality of each of these five exquisite sakes, including a selection from local Kyoto.This experience accentuates the synergy of flavors by tasting sake with carefully chosen snacks.Participants will be encouraged to converse, connect through shared experiences, and end with memorable group photos.This workshop promises to deepen the understanding of sake and its culinary compatibility.

It is located in an alleyway about 2 minutes walk from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station.There is an Irish pub on the ground floor, WISTERIA, with a yellow sign and stairs next to it that says OAGE.If you go up those stairs, the meeting point is on the second floor.

What to expect

Join us for a 60-minute sake tasting and pairing experience at OAGE, a hidden bar in an alleyway in central Kyoto.First, after introducing yourself, it will be about 15 minutes to explain the process of making sake and to get to know sake better, such as the rice polishing ratio.Next, I will explain today's five types of sake.Sake has different flavors and aromas such as ginjoshu and nigorishu, so we will explain each one and first enjoy tasting only sake.Prepare a tasting sheet and other items to make sure you don't forget the taste.After that, we will prepare appetizers to go with each of the five types of sake, so you can enjoy pairing sake that will taste different.At the end of the course, we would like to take a group photo and finish the 60-minute course.Ideal for both Novices and sake lovers!
