    Visit Koprivshtitsa /2 hrs drive from Sofia/ – the heart of the Bulgarian Revival Period, where the April Uprising in 1876 led to the liberation of the country from the Ottoman empire two years later. At 1000 m high above sea level, this little town with curved and narrow cobblestone streets, has beautifully preserved 19th century historic homes with high stone walls with colorful facades. A walking tour with entrance to two of the most beautifully preserved houses – Oslekovata kashta and Kableshkovata kashta.
