What to expect

Begin your experience at Shizuhamo, a Kyoto City-designated Important Machiya where you will discover the beauty of traditional tea ceremony and ikebana culture.

Step through the entrance and feel as if you have traveled back 100 years into old Kyoto. The first floor is arranged as a winter tea room, while the second floor recreates a summer tea room. Explore authentic tea ceremony spaces, admire seasonal ikebana displays, grind matcha with a traditional stone mill, and prepare your own bowl of matcha under the guidance of a tea instructor.

After the cultural experience, take a local Keihan train from Sumizome Station to Fushimi Inari Station (about 5 minutes). Your guide will then lead you through the highlights of Fushimi Inari Taisha, including the famous Senbon Torii (Thousands of Torii Gates), the Okusha Hohaisho, and the Omokaru Stone. Along the way, learn about the history, beliefs, and hidden stories of one of Kyoto's most iconic shrines.

The tour ends at Fushimi Inari Shrine, allowing you to continue exploring the shrine grounds or enjoy local specialties at your own pace.
