This is a self-guided cultural experience inside a historic Kyoto townhouse near Fushimi Inari. Guests unlock the entrance with a personal access code and explore the interior using an English and Japanese audio guide.
In the traditional tea room, observe features such as the nijiriguchi and hanging kettle. You may also turn a stone mill and handle tea utensils to engage with aspects of Japanese tea culture.
Upstairs, create your own ikebana arrangement using prepared seasonal materials.
English and Japanese guides for Fushimi Inari Shrine are also available. Fushimi Inari is about 1.7 km away (25–30 minutes on foot) through a Kyo-machiya preservation district.
This is an independent experience, not a guided tour or tea ceremony.
From Keihan Sumizome Station, walk north for approximately 400 meters (about 6 minutes). The townhouse is located about 60 meters south of the west gate of Fujinomori Shrine. It is situated along a very quiet back street. Look for a traditional wooden gate marking the entrance.
