    Arrival & Journey to the Countryside

    -Pick-up from Ulaanbaatar (city center or airport). -Drive about 100 km to the Mongolian steppe. -Arrive at the first nomadic family, experience a traditional welcome.Travelers live with nomadic herder families and participate in daily tasks such as herding livestock, milking, preparing dairy products, and assisting with seasonal work. Gain hands-on experience in traditional Mongolian customs, games, and cuisine. Learn about the nomads’ deep connection with nature and sustainable living practices.

    Nomadic Lifestyle Discovery

    Possible to ride a horse nearby from the family. Experience daily life with the herders: tending livestock, learning traditional skills, and enjoying home-made dairy products.

    Try to interact with daily life which is depending on what season you come to their life. Each nomadic family has its own work routine and lifestyle, which varies by season: Summer: Travelers may help with milking livestock and producing traditional dairy products like yogurt, cheese, fermented mare’s milk, dried curd, and butter. They may also assist families in moving to new pastures to ensure better nutrition for the animals. Autumn: Travelers may help families move to autumn camps, prepare for winter, gather and store hay, and assist in producing seasonal dairy products. Winter: Work is lighter but weather conditions are harsh. Travelers may help provide extra hay and bran to weak livestock, and observe traditional winter preparations including livestock slaughter for food. Spring: After winter, livestock give birth. Travelers may assist with deliveries and care for newborn animals.

    Farewell Ride & Return to Ulaanbaatar
