After breakfast, pick-up will be arranged from the main commercial districts in Chongqing. We will then visit the revolutionary education base, the former Sino-American Cooperation Institution—Baigongguan (White Mansion) (excludes guided tour inside; visit duration no less than 30 minutes). Located on the hillside of Gele Mountain in Shapingba District, Chongqing, it was constructed during the Anti-Japanese War. Originally the residence of Bai Wenyuan, the Chairman of Sichuan Province during the Nationalist Government period, it later became a detention center directly under the Nationalist Military Statistics Bureau, also known as the "Sino-American Cooperation Institution" concentration camp.
We will then proceed by vehicle to Ciqikou Ancient Town (visit duration no less than 1 hour). The earliest name of Ciqikou was Baiyanchang, dating back to the Xianping era of Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty (998–1003 AD). It was named after the Baiyan Temple that once stood here. In the fourth year of the Jianwen era of the Ming Dynasty (1402 AD), Emperor Jianwen Zhu Yunwen was usurped by his fourth uncle, Zhu Di. After fleeing the palace, he shaved his head and became a monk. When he drifted to the Ba-Yu region, he hid in Baolun Temple on Baiyan Mountain for four to five years. After this became known to the public, Baolun Temple was renamed Longyin Temple (Dragon Hidden Temple) in honor of the fact that the true dragon emperor—the Son of Heaven—had once lived there in seclusion. Consequently, Baiyanchang was also renamed Longyin Town.
Next, we will head to the Liziba Viewing Platform of Light Rail Line 2 (viewing time no less than 10 minutes) to witness the light rail passing through a building—a moment of wonder—and enjoy the scenery along the route. Liziba is one of Chongqing's internet-famous attractions, where visitors can watch the light rail traverse the building and take photos. Experience one of Chongqing's "Eighteen Oddities"—"light rail running through buildings"—dubbed by netizens as miraculous transportation. The light rail zigzags like a roller coaster. At Liziba Station on Chongqing Light Rail Line 2, it passes through buildings, creating the magical sight of the train soaring through the air daily. The station layout includes the concourse on the 6th floor, equipment rooms on the 7th floor, and the platform on the 8th floor.
Visit Jiefangbei (Liberation Monument) (visit duration no less than 30 minutes), located at the center of Jiefangbei Commercial Pedestrian Street in Yuzhong District, Chongqing. The Monument to the Victory of the War of Resistance and the People's Liberation Monument commenced construction on October 31, 1946, and was completed in August 1947. On October 1, 1950, Liu Bocheng, then Chairman of the Southwest Military and Administrative Committee, inscribed the name "People's Liberation Monument" on the monument. It serves as a spiritual symbol of the victory in the War of Resistance and is the only monument in China dedicated to commemorating the Chinese nation's triumph in the War of Resistance Against Japan.
Visit Kuixing Lou (Kuixing Tower) (visit duration no less than 10 minutes) to experience the magical 8D city firsthand, as its architecture highlights the mountainous terrain by defying geographical constraints. The peculiar phenomenon of "exiting the first floor onto a road and exiting the eighth floor onto another road" can be fully and vividly experienced here.
Visit Hongyadong (Hongya Cave) (visit duration no less than 30 minutes), a National AAAA-level tourist attraction renowned for its traditional Bayu architectural style and folk culture features. Originally named Hongyamen, it was one of the ancient city gates of Chongqing. Characterized by the traditional Bayu "stilted building" architecture, it integrates six major sectors—dining, entertainment, leisure, wellness, hotels, and cultural shopping—through mountain construction techniques such as tiered platforms, stilted structures, overlapping layers, and cliffside designs. This creates a unique "three-dimensional aerial pedestrian street," forming a multi-layered and textured urban scenic and commercial center.
