A guided hike in one of the most scenic paths of Mount San Bartolo, accompanied by the magical atmosphere of the sea among the Mediterranean vegetation to reach the beach of Vallugola Bay.
We will visit Fiorenzuola di Focara with its panoramic terrace and its narrow alleys and the small fortified medieval village of Casteldimezzo telling the legend of its crucifix and the importance of these places in antiquity as mooring and exchange points deeply modified by the evolution of the coastline over time.
We will be able to smell the scents of the Mediterranean scrub warmed by the sun and discover a lush nature a few steps from the city.
Public parking before the village
A small fortified village of medieval origin still surrounded by the walls DA and mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the divine Comedy in canto XXVIII for the strength of its wind. Its name derives DA the fires that were lit on the coast to signal the presence of the reef at night to passing ships.
Casteldimezzo known in ancient times as "castrum Medi" is located on the border between Marche and Romagna along with the other two castles of Fiorenzuola di Focara and Gradara long disputed between the Malatesta and Montefeltro families. The church of San Cristoforo e Apollinare will take us back in time with an adventurous legend linked to his crucifix.
A natural port surrounded by woods and Mediterranean scrub, already known at the time of the Greeks for the possibility of supplying fresh water. An ideal place to stop and admire nature and enjoy the sea.
