Many visitors come to Xi'an to explore the famous Muslim Quarter. But to locals, this place has another name: Hui fang (hui community).
The word "Fang" has existed for over a thousand years. It represents far more than just a neighborhood—it tells the story of a community, a culture, and centuries of interaction between different civilizations. I want to show you the real Huifang, not just the version most tourists see.
I was born and raised in Xi'an's Hui Muslim community and have spent more than twenty years growing up in these streets. Huifang isn't simply a tourist attraction for me—it's home. The narrow alleys, neighborhood markets, and everyday traditions are all part of my own life story.
This experience goes beyond sightseeing. Together, we'll explore hidden alleys, local markets, and authentic halal restaurants while discovering the stories, history, and everyday life that make Huifang unique.
Come as a traveler. Leave with a local's perspective.
By Metro: Take Metro Line 2 to Zhonglou (Bell Tower) Station, then walk about 5–8 minutes to the Drum Tower.
We meet at the entrance of the Drum Tower, the iconic landmark of Xi'an. Here I'll give a short introduction and show you the best viewing/photography spot of the tower before entering the Musilm Quarter.
You’ll visit one of the oldest and most beautiful mosques in China. I will explain its unique blend of Chinese architecture and Islamic heritage. This is a hidden gem — peaceful, historic, and away from the tourist crowds.
