Meet your guide at the SW corner of W. 72th and Central Park West. We start our walk entering at Strawberry Fields / Woman’s Gate. We will learn some history of how Central Park came to be.

End point

We finish our run at Grand Army Plaza, across from the Plaza Hotel.

    Strawberry Fields

    This is a casual walk during which we will briefly stop to take photos and discuss history of nearby points of interest such as the Imagine Mosaic, and some little known facts about John Lennon and the Dakota building.

    Sheep Meadow

    Brief stop near Sheep Meadow to gain insights about the area, including Tavern on the Green. What was once a 15 acre pasture with Sheep, is now a gathering place for picnics, festivals, rallies, concerts, and protests. Learn some trivia of famous movies featuring Central Park landmarks.

    Bethesda Terrace

    Visit Bow Bridge, Bethesda Fountain, the Model Boat Pond, and the Central Park Boathouse. Then walk through the Bethesda Arcade to see the neo-classical half-domed Naumburg Bandshell. Next is the “The Mall”, a grand promenade originally designed for carriages, flanked by protected rare American Elms, bronze statues, and is featured in numerous TV shows and movies.
