Meet your guide at the corner of W. 77th and Central Park West. We start our run entering at Naturalists Gate. We will learn some tips for exiting the race area, some strategies for meeting up with family/friends after the race, and learn some history of how Central Park came to be.
We finish our run at Engineers Gate, which is the actual point of entry on race day.
This is a casual run of about 4 miles, during which we will briefly stop to take photos and discuss history of nearby points of interest. Average pace time will be between 10-13 minutes per mile.
Brief stop near Sheep’s Meadow, to gain insights about the finish line area for the NYC Marathon.
Jog through Columbus Circle to learn about the last major turn of the NYC Marathon route.
Pass by and stop at landmarks to take photos, gain insights, and take in some scenic views.
Briefly stop at Bethesda Fountain, the heart of Central Park. Jog past Bow Bridge, the Bandshell, Model Boat Pond, and the Central Park Boathouse.
Pass by and briefly stop to take photos of Belvedere Castle. Learn secrets and strategies for spectators to navigate the closed-off park on race day.
Pass by Cleopatra’s Needle, the Hamilton statue, and the Met. Learn some ideal locations where friends/family can cheer for the runners.
Pass by the Reservoir to take in the views along the world famous running path. Learn some more fun facts about the NYC Marathon, Central Park, and the Fred Lebow statue hiding near Engineer’s Gate.
