Meeting and pickup
We will meet at the main entrance of the Fuente Dé Cable Car (Teleférico) bottom station. Your Cantabria Treks guide will be there 15 minutes before the departure time, holding a sign or wearing the brand logo. We recommend arriving early as parking in Picos de Europa can be busy during peak season.
What to expect
Our adventure begins at Fuente Dé. Note: We will assist you in purchasing your tickets at the station (cost not included in the tour price), allowing us to board the iconic cable car and soar 800 meters into the clouds in just four minutes.
Once at the top, we leave the crowds behind to navigate the striking limestone landscapes that make this range world-famous. Guided by a certified local expert from Cantabria Treks, you’ll trek across rocky trails toward Cabaña Verónica (2,325m). This legendary metal hut—repurposed from an aircraft carrier's battery—is the most iconic mountain shelter in the Picos.
We embrace a 'Slow Travel' approach: this isn't a race. We ensure you have time to absorb the panoramic views, breathe the purest alpine air, and learn the geological secrets of these ancient crags. For those with extra energy, we can extend the hike to the Horcados Rojos viewpoint for a breathtaking face-to-face view of the legendary Picu Urriellu.
