    the city of Sderot, On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists stormed the Sderot police station, killing 20 officers and attempting to seize control. Despite being outnumbered, Israeli police fought fiercely, delaying the attackers and rescuing civilians. The station was later demolished during a firefight to eliminate the remaining terrorists.

    Kibbuts Mefalsim, The Death Curve - On October 7, 2023, at the Mefalsim bend near Route 232, Hamas terrorists launched a major assault. Israeli forces, including elite Yamam and Shin Bet units, fought fiercely to stop their advance. In the battle, 16 people were killed — 13 security personnel (6 IDF soldiers, 6 Yamam officers, and 1 Shin Bet agent) and 3 civilians. Their actions prevented mass abductions and saved many lives.

    On October 7, 2023, Kibbutz Nirim was attacked by around 80 Hamas terrorists. Despite being heavily outnumbered, a small group of IDF soldiers, local responders, and civilians fought bravely to defend the community. Colonel Asaf Hamami and Captain Omer Wolf led the resistance under intense fire, delaying the attackers and saving lives. Five civilians were killed and five abducted, but the defenders’ courage became a symbol of resilience.

    Sufa, Holit and Kerem Shalom, On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists launched coordinated attacks on Kerem Shalom, Sufa, and Holit—three communities near the Gaza border. In Kerem Shalom, IDF soldiers and local defense teams repelled over 100 militants, preventing civilian casualties despite heavy fighting. In Sufa, six armed residents bravely held off attackers for hours until reinforcements arrived, though three civilians were killed. Holit also faced infiltration and gunfire, with tragic losses among residents. Kerem Shalom Crossing Kerem Shalom is Gaza’s main commercial gateway, located at the junction of Israel, Gaza, and Egypt. It facilitates the transfer of goods—food, fuel, medical supplies—between Israel and Gaza, playing a vital role in humanitarian aid and trade.
