3-day desert tour from Marrakech to the dunes of Merzouga and a camel ride, including: A 3-day desert tour in Merzouga starting from Marrakech will allow you to explore the southern Sahara and its magnificent kasbahs and spend unforgettable moments with the Berbers, as well as visit the old kasbah in Ait Ben Haddou and the Todra Gorge, and spend the night in a desert camp under a Berber tent.
We can meet and greet travelers at the airport or their hotel.
We will pick you up from your accommodation or the nearest location in Marrakech at 7:00 a.m. Then we will begin our journey from Marrakech to Tinghir via the Tizi n'Tichka Atlantic Pass, with far-reaching views across the mountains to the traditional Berber villages of the High Atlas. We will then continue to the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. You will have lunch in Aït Ben Haddou, and after lunch, we will stop at a supermarket in Ouarzazate, then continue our journey to Tinghir via the Valley of Roses, spending the night in a hotel with dinner and breakfast included.
After breakfast, we will depart for the Erg Chebbi Desert in Merzouga. Berber villages dot the road, and we will pass through the Todra Gorge, an oasis, Tindgad, Jorf, and Erfoud, where we will experience the beginning of the Tafilalet desert oasis. We will then continue on our way to a hotel in Merzouga. After relaxing for a few minutes, you will take some of your belongings in a small bag (necessary for spending the night in the desert) and leave the rest at the hotel. Then we will ride camels on an adventure through the dunes of Erg Chebbi, which is a great opportunity to take beautiful photos of the sunset and sunrise. When we arrive at the camp, we will leave the camels and walk to the top of the sand dunes to sandboard and watch the sunset. We will spend the night in a camp (Berber tents) with drum music in the middle of the desert.
We will wake you up early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes, then ride camels to Merzouga. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we will begin our journey back to Marrakech through different regions and Berber villages, until we reach Ouarzazate, where we will take the same route back to Marrakech. Your 3-day shared desert tour from Marrakech will end in the late afternoon around 7:30 p.m., with drop-off at your hotel or the closest accessible point from your riad.
