In HuaQing Palace. The Song of Everlasting Sorrow is a famous Chinese narrative poem written by the Tang dynasty poet Bai Juyi (白居易). It tells the tragic love story between Emperor Xuanzong and his beloved consort Yang Guifei. Their romance was interrupted by political turmoil during the **An Lushan Rebellion**, leading to Yang Guifei’s forced death.
