Discover the art of Japanese origami in a fun, hands-on workshop designed especially for international travelers. No experience is needed—beginners, families, and children are all welcome.
Learn step by step how to fold beautiful Japanese paper into traditional and creative designs, while discovering the culture and meaning behind origami. Choose from colorful Japanese-style papers and create your own unique pieces to take home as special souvenirs of your trip to Japan.
The workshop is mainly held in Yokohama on Sundays, with sessions in Tokyo also available on selected dates. Small-group sessions allow for friendly, personal instruction and plenty of time to enjoy the creative process. All materials are included.

We will meet at JR Ishikawacho Station. Your host will be waiting at the designated meeting point holding a sign that says “Yokohama Origami Experience.” After meeting, we will walk together for about 10 minutes to the nearby meeting room where the origami experience will take place.

What to expect

Enjoy a hands-on Japanese origami experience in Yokohama. Choose from a variety of designs such as traditional cranes, ninja stars, Mt. Fuji, decorative boxes, cute animals, and seasonal creations. Your host will guide you step by step, so no previous origami experience is needed. Choose your favorite colorful and Japanese-patterned papers, create several unique pieces, and take your creations home as special souvenirs from Japan. This small-group experience is perfect for families, couples, solo travelers, and beginners.
