Once a thriving mining town, San Sebastián feels frozen in time. Stroll its cobblestone streets, admire traditional adobe homes, and learn about the town’s history, myths, and legends during the drive—so you can enjoy more free time upon arrival.
Highlights include an artisanal tequila tasting with flavored tequilas and a visit to an opal mine shop, where guests may enjoy a Paloma or water. By sharing the stories and recommendations on the road, you’ll have more time to explore, shop, enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice, or visit nearby attractions such as La Bufa Peak (optional ATV rental). During this time, we will do the pick up. Pickups goes from South To North; starting at Parque Lazaro Cardenas toward Zona Hotelera Norte. Every Pickup will take us closer to San Sebastian del Oeste; meanwhile, you can relax, talk with your friends, and enjoy the view.

You’ll experience a different side of Mexico as we travel through small rural villages. Along the route, you’ll enjoy beautiful natural scenery and may spot horses, chickens, and turkeys. You’ll also hear interesting local history, facts about Mexico in general, as well as myths and legends related to tequila.

You’ll learn the basics of tequila production and enjoy a tasting of artisanal tequilas, including fruit-infused varieties. There will also be time to use the restroom and take photos.

As we continue our journey, you’ll pass agave plantations and stunning landscapes while learning about the history of San Sebastián del Oeste and the region’s coffee plantations. We’ll also drive through the small town of La Estancia de Landeros, part of the San Sebastián del Oeste area.

First Stop once in the town of San Sebastian del Oeste is an opal mine store and will get some information about how the opal is made, will get a refreshment and opportunity to use the toilet if needed.

This is what truly sets this tour apart from others. You’ll enjoy about 2.5 hours of free time to explore the town at your own pace. There are several restaurants to choose from—if you have one in mind, feel free to visit it, or I can recommend a quick and tasty option. For guests interested in visiting La Bufa Peak, this is the ideal opportunity. You may choose to rent an ATV (Faster!) or if traveling as a group, a Pick up! The round trip takes about two hours. If visiting it and wish to eat before, I’ll be happy to suggest a great local spot. We leave San Sebastian del Oeste at 3:00 pm.

We’ll begin our return to Puerto Vallarta, dropping you off at your hotel, a nearby area, or the original meeting point. Along the way, enjoy soft music to help you relax.

8Puerto Vallarta
Once we arrive in Puerto Vallarta, we’ll gently wake you if you’re asleep to confirm your drop-off location and remind you to take a moment to check your seat before exiting. The drive back to the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta takes about one hour, with additional time depending on traffic and your hotel’s location.
