The tour ends at the largest craft market in downtown Puerto Vallarta—perfect for souvenir shopping!
Before reaching the boardwalk, we’ll stop at two or three eateries near the meeting point. Once on the boardwalk, travelers will learn about a little bit of history of Puerto Vallarta, the meaning behind its decorative design, Huichol art, and the stories or symbolism of several sculptures. Whenever possible, I’ll also talk about the history of corn in Mexico and the type of food you’re enjoying at each stop.
We’ll pass through the nightclub district and then the heart of the boardwalk (Puerto Vallarta Letters, Open Theater Aquiles Serdan, Main Square, City Hall, and Church). Along the way, there will be time for photos, plus anecdotes and stories about Puerto Vallarta.
The next stop will be a jewelry store, where you can use the restroom and enjoy a refreshment. You’ll also have some free time to look around and visit the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
After the church, we’ll head south to more eateries and, if time permits, will visit a place to learn about alebrijes.
At this point, I’ll check your energy level—and how much room you still have in your tummy! If you’re feeling good and ready for more food, we’ll take a longer walk, passing by the Elizabeth Taylor House before heading to another eatery. If your energy is running low and you’re already full, we’ll take a shortcut, enjoy a tequila tasting followed by a candy tasting, and end the tour right in front of the largest craft market in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
