Embark on a serene journey to explore the depths of Japanese spirituality in Takasaki. The city is just under 1 hour away from Tokyo and is known as the birthplace of the "Engi-daruma (Lucky Daruma)".

A Daruma is a traditional Japanese hollow, round doll that serves as a symbol of perseverance and good luck. It is modeled after Daruma Daishi (Bodhidharma), the monk who founded Zen Buddhism at Shorinzan Darumaji Temple. This temple is the historic heart of the Daruma tradition in Takasaki. It was established as a place to pray for protection against misfortune.

This tour begins with Daruma painting workshops at Shorinzan Darumaji, where you create your own unique lucky charm to take home.
Afterward, a calming Zen meditation session in the temple helps you find inner peace amid tranquil surroundings.

A delightful taste of Japanese or traditional Buddhist vegetarian cuisine will conclude your day, followed by a restful overnight stay at the comfortable Hotel Grand View Takasaki.
