This is your "Introduction to London" tour whether you're visiting or whether you just want a clearer picture of how the history of England shaped the City.

I will take you through the main periods and events of our history and show you something which is connected to them, from London's Roman origins, through the turbulent Middle Ages, and the monumental political and economic shifts that led to the creation of the British Empire, through to the two World Wars and the modern era.

We will be going on a loop through the Square Mile, starting and ending near Guildhall, and seeing some of the City Highlights in chronological order.

So whether you're a tourist or a resident, whether you want a crash-course in London or simply want to brush up on your history of the City while meeting new people and going on a scenic walk, this is the tour for you!

Meeting point

Guildhall Art Gallery is located in the heart of the City of London. An easy walk from the Bank of England and St Paul's Cathedral. Nearest underground stations: Moorgate, St Paul's, Bank, Liverpool Street. Nearest train stations: Cannon Street, Liverpool Street.

End point

The tour ends at a very short distance from the meeting point, on Wood Street, a short distance from Barbican and St Paul's Cathedral.
