It is located 34.5 kilometers by road south of Marrakech, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It is home to a Jewish cemetery.
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel or designated meeting point at 09:00 , and you’ll be transferred just two hours away from Marrakech to the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be the picturesque village of Tahnaout, where you’ll have the opportunity to take photos and visit a women’s argan oil cooperative. Here, you will enjoy traditional Moroccan tea and taste fresh argan oil. Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey into the Atlas Mountains, where you’ll be welcomed at the hotel with a lunch meal. Then, we’ll visit the Tinmel Mosque, which dates back to the 12th century, along with other historical landmarks in the area. We’ll return to our hotel after a full and enjoyable first day, where dinner will be served. On the second day, we will visit a pottery workshop, where you’ll learn how to craft traditional pottery. After that, we’ll return to the hotel for a cooking class on how to prepare an authentic Moroccan tagine. we will head back to Marrakech at 05:00
Upon arrival in the Ijoukak area, we will be welcomed at the hotel, where lunch will be served. After the meal, we will visit some historical landmarks, including the Tinmel Mosque — the site where the Almohad dynasty was founded by Mahdi Ibn Tumart, who also built the great Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech. After the visit, we will return to the hotel for an overnight stay with meals provided.
After lunch, we will visit the Tinmel Mosque. Although it is no longer used as a place of prayer, it remains a significant historical monument that visitors can explore from the inside.
On the second day, we will visit a traditional pottery workshop, where we will learn how to craft handmade pottery and how to prepare a traditional and authentic Moroccan tagine.
