We arrive in the village of Mesopotam to visit the Mesopotam Monastery, which shares the same name. Inside the monastery, you will find the Church of St. Nicholas, a unique structure of its kind with four domes, making it a rare example of Byzantine architecture. Here, we explore and discuss the history of religion in our country, learning how faith, traditions, and cultural influences have shaped the region over the centuries.
The second stop will be at the Blue Eye National Park, one of the natural wonders of southern Albania, located around the Blue Eye Spring. Inside the park, you will discover a rich and unique vegetation, along with one of the largest karst springs in the region, reaching a depth of approximately 50 meters. You will have free time to take photos, explore the area, and fully enjoy the beauty and peaceful atmosphere of this stunning natural site.
The third stop will be at a local winery, where you will have the opportunity not only to learn about traditional production techniques, but also to taste a selection of local wines and raki, Albania’s most famous spirit. The tasting experience will be accompanied by light snacks, allowing you to enjoy the authentic flavors of the region. After the visit, we will return to the same meeting point in Saranda, concluding the tour.
