Step beyond the Strip and experience the real Las Vegas — where vintage neon meets bold street art. This walking tour takes you through the creative, colorful streets of Downtown Las Vegas. From legendary casinos and million-dollar photo ops to massive graffiti murals and hidden alleys, every stop is packed with energy, history, and photo-worthy moments.
Your local guide (that’s me, Steph!) will show you the best neon corners, street art walls, and insider spots where Vegas truly comes alive.
Corner of Freemont St and N 6th St.
Your adventure begins outside the historic El Cortez Hotel, one of the oldest continuously running casinos in Las Vegas. Learn how this 1940s gem survived the test of time, see its retro neon sign up close, and snap your first vintage-style photos under the glowing marquee. I’ll share fun stories about early Vegas and its transformation into the artistic district it is today.
We’ll stroll along Fremont Street East, where walls come alive with art from local and international muralists. From massive portraits to colorful graffiti lettering, this open-air gallery is ever-changing. I’ll point out hidden artist tags, talk about the annual Life Is Beautiful art festival, and help you capture the best photo angles for each piece.
A creative hub built from repurposed shipping containers, Container Park blends art, music, and local life. You’ll see the famous giant praying mantis sculpture that shoots flames at night, browse local boutiques, and maybe grab a quick drink or snack. I’ll also show you playful installations and wall art inside the park that most people miss.
Next, we’ll step into the legendary Fremont Street Experience, where Las Vegas truly comes alive! Walk beneath the massive LED canopy that lights up the entire street, see classic neon signs from the 1950s, and feel the energy of the performers, live music, and buzzing crowd. I’ll show you the best angles to photograph the iconic Vegas Vic cowboy sign and other glowing landmarks — this is pure vintage Vegas magic.
Inside Binion’s Gambling Hall, we’ll visit one of Downtown’s most famous attractions.
Next, we’ll walk over to the Golden Nugget, another vintage Vegas gem known for its glitzy façade and classic signage. You’ll see the Hand of Faith, and learn how this casino helped shape Fremont Street into what it is today.
Once a vintage motel, Ferguson’s Downtown is now a local favorite, then make a photo stop at the Atomic Bar.
