What to expect

Your experience begins with a warm welcome from your local host, who will introduce you to the ingredients and techniques behind one of Xi’an’s most iconic dishes.

You’ll start by making dough from scratch, learning how to knead, rest, and stretch it into the wide, belt-like noodles that define biangbiang noodles. Your host will share stories about the origins of the dish and its place in local culture.

You will also prepare a complete meal, including:

Biangbiang noodles (main dish)
Vegetable toppings (carrot, potato, green beans, wood ear mushrooms)
A hot dish (tomato with egg, with vegetarian option available)
A cold dish (spinach with peanuts)
A light soup (tofu with greens)

You’ll also experience a cultural activity: writing the famous and complex Chinese character “biang” with a traditional brush on red paper. Your artwork will be framed for you to take home as a unique souvenir.

Depending on the group size, your class will take place either in a cozy local home (for 2 guests) or in a professional restaurant kitchen (for groups of 3–5), ensuring both authenticity and comfort.

Finally, sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you’ve created together.
