Your guide, Rahul Raj, grew up in Nehru Trophy village and has paddled these backwaters for 13 years. He holds a certification from the National Institute of Watersports, Goa — so you're in safe hands even if you've never kayaked or can't swim.
In 3 hours (4:00 PM – 7:00 PM), you'll paddle through village canals, visit the Nehru Trophy Boat Race starting point on Punnamada Lake, and explore bird-watching islands at sunset.

What to expect
Hi, I'm Rahul Raj, a local guide who grew up in island village in Alleppey. These backwaters are my home, and I've been paddling these canals and Punnamada Lake for thirteen years.
Join me for a three hour sunset kayaking trip starting at four o'clock. I'll pick you up by boat from our meeting point near DTPC in Alappula and bring you to the activity point in Nehru Trophy village, where we'll start kayaking together. We'll paddle through narrow canals surrounded by coconut trees and rice fields, taking in the beauty of the Kerala backwaters. As the sun sets, we'll visit nearby bird-watching islands where dozens of birds gather at dusk, creating a truly special moment.
I hold a kayaking license from the National Institute of Watersports in Goa so you're in safe hands throughout the experience
I'll capture your entire journey for free using a DJI Osmo Pocket Three camera, so you'll have beautiful photos and videos to take home. We'll also take a relaxing break with complimentary tea, snacks, or coffee before I drop you back at the boarding point by 7o'clock.
