  Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park

  The Karaburun Peninsula is the crown jewel of the Karaburun Sazan Marine Park, which proudly stands as Albania's only national marine park. Because this rugged stretch of land has no roads and remains largely inaccessible by land, its coastline is completely untouched and wild. The area is characterized by steep limestone cliffs, hidden coves, and secluded beaches. The protected environment and exceptionally clear waters make it an idyllic spot to anchor, swim, and relax under the sun.

  Carved into the rugged cliffs of the Karaburun Peninsula, Haxhi Ali Cave is a magnificent sea cavern with an entrance towering nearly 60 meters high. This natural wonder is named after a legendary 17th-century Albanian sailor and warrior who used the cavern as a strategic hideout to ambush invading ships and foreign pirates. Because of the cave's massive size, speedboats can sail directly inside the cavern. The grotto echoes with history and features striking limestone formations surrounding deep turquoise waters that are perfect for a memorable swim.

  Sazan Island

  Once Albania's most secretive military base, Sazan Island sits perfectly positioned at the entrance of the Bay of Vlora.
