Our first stop is Tahune Adventures, where you can experience the famous AirWalk along with a selection of forest walks. The experience starts with a gentle uphill climb of 104 steps leading to the elevated walkway, positioned about 30 metres above the forest floor. Stretching 619 metres in total, the AirWalk concludes with a dramatic cantilever section that extends 50 metres above the Huon River.

If you prefer a gentler option, the easy 20-minute Huon Pine Walk offers a relaxed experience along the river, where you can see the iconic and rare Huon Pine trees—some estimated to be up to 2,000 years old—making for a peaceful and enchanting stroll.

    We then continue south to Hastings Caves Reserve, a peaceful and remote destination known for its stunning natural beauty. Here, you can enjoy a range of activities while taking in the unique surroundings. Bring your swimwear and take a dip in the Thermal Springs pool, where the water is consistently a warm 28°C, naturally heated by nearby springs. Alternatively, relax in the tranquil forest setting or stroll along the Hot Springs Nature Trail, where warm and cool waters meet—also a great spot to watch for the elusive and playful Platypus. The experience continues underground with a guided tour of Hastings Caves, Australia’s largest tourist dolomite cave.
