Travelers will walk through the vermilion-lacquered corridors of Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its floating appearance on the sea. They’ll see the iconic torii gate rising from the water — one of Japan’s most scenic and recognizable views — and learn how the shrine was built to honor nature and the Shinto gods. The experience also includes time to enjoy the peaceful seaside atmosphere and capture unforgettable photos of this beautiful floating shrine.
Daishoin Temple is the oldest temple on Miyajima Island, founded over 1,200 years ago by the monk Kobo Daishi. It sits quietly on the hillside and is known for its calm atmosphere and colorful details. Visitors can see hundreds of small Buddha statues, spin the prayer wheels for good luck, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of this sacred place away from the crowds.
Omotesando Shopping Street is the lively main street of Miyajima, filled with shops and local food stalls. Travelers can try freshly grilled oysters, momiji manju (maple-leaf shaped cakes), and browse handmade souvenirs. It’s a fun, casual area to experience local life and taste the flavors of Hiroshima.
(Optional) Senjokaku Hall is a large, open wooden building built in the 16th century by warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The hall’s quiet simplicity, sea breeze, and views of the five-story pagoda make it one of the most photogenic and peaceful places on the island. This can be added as an optional stop on your tour.
