    This is the meeting point where we will begin our route toward the Central de Abastos market. We will talk about the importance of the market, its history, its gastronomy, and how it has become an emblematic place for both locals and visitors.

    Embark on a 3.5-hour journey through the Mercado de Abastos, exploring Oaxaca from a local, conscious, and authentic perspective. Your experience begins with a traditional breakfast of memelas at the beloved stand of Doña Gloria. From there, walk through the tianguis route, meeting artisans who craft huaraches, embroidered textiles, hats, and carrizo goods. Discover how Oaxacan chocolate is made inside the bustling molinos, taste traditional bread, chiles, and spices, and explore the vibrant food aisles where daily life unfolds with color and flavor. The tour concludes with a delicious plate of barbacoa at one of the market’s most iconic food stalls.
