I will provide a full exterior tour of the Palace and its very turbulent history. The birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots - and a Stewart Stronghold.
Great Views of the Kelpies which are hugely symbolic towards the industry, history and folklore of Scotland.
I will provide a full exterior tour of the Castle. For anyone who wishes to purchase interior tickets at £20 per person get in touch so that we can make any necessary adjustments to the itinerary to accommodate this. Stirling Castle is the most historic, strategic and impressive Castle in Scotland.
I will provide a full exterior tour of the castle. Doune has so much history and is an ancient Castle ! If you wish to purchase tickets on site for the interior tour this is also fine.
Here you will meet and feed the Highland or "hairy Coos". There are also toilets, a cafe, woollen mill and gift shop on site.
We will stop off at our first of many Lochs of the day ! Loch Lubnaig is very special and by far one of Scotlands most charming.
We will have passed many Lochs by now, however it would be rude not to pull in to this amazing vantage point which always makes a great picture. Looking down over the mountains, lochs and valleys which we have just driven through, you will be sure to capture an amazing family photo from this spot.
Experience one of Scotland's greatest wilderness. Rannoch Moore is surrounded by rugged beauty, Lochs and Lochans. As you stare across the the moor to the mountains in the distance from the comfort of my mini van you will feel 1 million miles away from work, or any of your problems. You will truly switch off and begin to immerse yourself in Highland life. Glencoe begins to appear in the distance.
Glencoe is a bottle neck of beauty. This is one of Scotland's greatest Glens. A glen is what we call a mountain pass. Years gone by, I have worked for tour companies that factor only one stop in here. Scotland does not get any better than Glencoe, and this is where I have hiked most of my life. Let me take you to some of the most enchanting spots, which I will decide on based on your personality. Glencoe has everything to offer - rugged mountains, waterfalls, white water rapids, glens, valleys and above all very turbulant history ! I would like to take you to the famous Clachaig inn for lunch which allows you to further immerse yourself within the Glen. Glencoe is a glacial masterclass, surrounded by incredible mountains and rivers carved out by fire and ice. What I notice most about Glencoe is that once we reach here - people are completely switched off and endorphins are flowing to the sound of white water and the scent of pine.
We will pass through the largest town in the Western Highlands which boasts so much history as well as great scenery. Surrounded by mountains, Fort William is the UK's outdoor capital and is home to the UK's largest mountain - Ben Nevis. You may stop here on request to make use of the amazing high street boasting a variety of shops and restaurants.
From Fort William we will have passed by many Lochs and beauty spots. Now it is time to go and hunt for Nessie ! Fort Augustus has great local amenities, shops and toilets and of course is resident to the legendary Nessie. A boat tour can also be arranged here separately, we can do this if you contact myself to make adjustments to the itinerary.
Enjoy the beauty of the Cairngorms National park as we loop southwards in the direction of Edinburgh. We will bypass Dalwhinnie Distillery - which is full of character nestled in the middle of the Cairngorm Mountains. To arrange a tour of the distillery please do notify me, however it makes for a good stop off to stretch the legs and take a few pictures.
We will make one final stop at the Hermitage - one of Scotland's finest woodland walks and spectacular waterfalls.
We will cross the iconic "Three Bridges" back into Edinburgh which takes us over the river forth.
