    Boti Falls

    Bout waterfalls is situated in a village called Boti in the Manya Krobo district in the Eastern Region. “Boti is a beautiful waterfall North- East of Koforidua. The Boti falls has an upper fall and a lower fall. The most talked about is the lower falls (which has two falls). When the volume of water is high, the two separations meet. The indigenes describe this meeting as a mating ritual between the two falls, the male and female. The mating ritual is added unto by rainbow formation, which is as a result of the splashing of the water. To view the falls, tourists have to descend a flight of stairs. This offers a session of exercise. There is a pool formed at the base of the falls, which offers a refreshing cooling down effect after the long descend.

    Tetteh Quarshie was born in about 1842 to a farmer from Teshie known as Mlekubo. His mother was known as Ashong-Fio from Labadi, both hailing from the Ga-Dangme ethnic group. In his teens Tetteh Quarshie became an apprentice in a Basel Mission workshop at Akropong. Due to his hard work he soon became a master blacksmith and was in fact the first blacksmith to be established at Akuapim-Mampong. His hobby was farming. In 1870, Tetteh Quarshie undertook a voyage to the Spanish colony Fernando Po (now Bioko in Equatorial Guinea). About six years later, he returned to Ghana with several cocoa beans.

    Umbrella Rock

    The Umbrella Rock is a mysterious rock located just about seven kilometres close to the Boti Falls in the Yilo Krobo District, Ghana, hence tourists who visit Boti Falls usually take advantage to pass by and experience the mystery of nature of the rock.The Umbrella rock is one of the main tourist attractions in the country's Eastern Region.[2] As the name implies, Umbrella Rock has an overhang on the top large enough to cover 12 to 15 people at once. Yearly, many tourists travel to Boti Falls for its natural beauty, and the umbrella rock is visible through much of the trek to the falls.
