Welcome to the Roof of the World! Whether you arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport by plane or Lhasa Railway Station by train, our dedicated reception team will warmly greet you and present you with a white hada (ceremonial scarf) symbolizing blessings. Then, we will arrange a comfortable private car to take you to your hotel in Lhasa city. The journey from the airport to the hotel is approximately 70 kilometers, taking about 1 hour; if departing from the railway station, the time will be adjusted according to actual road conditions. Along the way, you can enjoy the vast scenery of the plateau. Upon arrival at the hotel, we will assist you with check-in. Afterwards, we suggest you relax in your room and allow your body to gradually acclimatize to the high altitude.
After breakfast, we will first visit Drepung Monastery, one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Built during the Ming Dynasty, this magnificent monastery boasts layered architecture, resembling a Buddhist kingdom nestled in the mountains, its solemnity enhanced by the morning light. Upon entering the monastery, a professional guide will lead you to the core building, the Tsokchen Hall, and eloquently recount the history of Tibetan Buddhism, including the thoughts and contributions of important figures such as Tsongkhapa. You will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Tibetan Buddhism's unique reincarnation system and practices, and to experience its profound philosophy of life. Strolling through the tranquil alleys of Drepung Monastery, you can savor the peaceful atmosphere of spiritual practice and have the opportunity to interact with monks, listening to their reflections on their monastic lives.
In the afternoon, we will visit Sera Monastery, renowned for its "debates." Debates are a unique way for Tibetan Buddhist monks to discuss Buddhist teachings, sparking intellectual discussions through question-and-answer exchanges and physical gestures. Every afternoon (Monday to Saturday), this vibrant academic exchange takes place in the debating arena of Sera Monastery. Guided by a tour guide, you will observe the debating process up close and experience the lively atmosphere of discussion. The guide will also explain the rules and meanings of the gestures, helping you understand the profound significance of this ancient tradition. After the debating session, you are free to explore Sera Monastery, admire the exquisite murals and solemn Buddha statues, and offer prayers for your loved ones.
【Potala Palace】(Approximately 1 hour visit) In the crisp morning light of Lhasa, we first visit the Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This magnificent palace, built against the mountainside, appears even more solemn and sacred against the backdrop of the blue sky. Stepping inside is like traveling through a thousand years of history; exquisite murals and magnificent halls tell stories everywhere. A professional guide will recount the legends from Songtsen Gampo to the successive Dalai Lamas, leading you into a deeper understanding of the cultural essence of Tibetan Buddhism.
【Jokhang Temple】(Approximately 1 hour visit) Afterwards, we will visit the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred temple in Tibetan Buddhism. The life-size statue of the twelve-year-old Shakyamuni Buddha enshrined within is the focus of pilgrimage for countless believers. The Barkhor Street surrounding the temple is Lhasa's oldest pilgrimage route. We will follow in the footsteps of the locals, walking clockwise around this "holy path," experiencing the devout religious atmosphere and feeling the unchanging power of faith.
围绕着大昭寺的八廓街出了可以感受转经的虔诚,还可以去看看这条千年街道上原汁原味的藏式建筑,去看传闻中的”玛吉阿米“。
After a delicious breakfast, we will be accompanied by a professional guide and driver to Yamdrok Lake. En route, we will pass the Gangbala Pass at an altitude of 4900 meters, where the magnificent mountain scenery will surely leave you in awe. Our first stop is the "Ruila Viewpoint." Standing here, the view is boundless. The azure Yamdrok Lake, like a jewel set in the earth, reflects the majestic Kula Kangri Snow Mountain in the distance.
