This experience is built around one kanji character you choose—not your name. During the session, you handwrite that character with brush and ink on an authentic washi postcard. Afterward, a professional Japanese typography & logo designer professionally refines your handwritten work into a finished kanji-style logo and sends it as digital data (the final logo is not completed on-site). Your original postcard can be posted from Japan during the experience, allowing you to receive it at home after your trip.

MOMOYAMA HILLS 3F, inside the covered Fushimi-Momoyama shopping street. Glass-block building between a snack shop and a tea shop. Ground floor has a small “MEDICAL DENTAL ESTE” sticker. Use stairs. Owner TOMOYUKI will meet you at the entrance. Arrive 5 minutes early.

What to expect

This experience takes place in a quiet private studio in Fushimi-Momoyama. After a brief introduction, you will learn how Japanese calligraphy transforms your name into a kanji-style artistic logo. The instructor will propose several kanji options based on meaning and visual balance, then guide you through practicing strokes using traditional brush and ink. Once your final design is ready, you will handwrite it onto premium washi postcard paper. The finished postcard will be carefully prepared and mailed worldwide from Japan. This activity is beginner-friendly and suitable for guests who want a personalized cultural souvenir created with their own hands.
