Every summer, the lavender in full bloom at Oishi Park on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi covers the park like a purple carpet, creating a stunning contrast with the view of Mount Fuji in the distance. In autumn, the park’s kochia (summer cypress) turn a vivid red, their fluffy, rounded shape making them especially adorable. The park also serves as the venue for the Lake Kawaguchi Herb Festival.
