The Historical Cabildo: A Journey to the Colonial Past Located in front of Plaza 9 de Julio, the Cabildo de Salta is the most complete and best preserved colonial-era government building in Argentina. With its unmistakable tower and elegant two-storey archway, this National Historic Monument takes you straight back to the 18th century. Why is this a must-see? Unique Architecture : Admire its adobe walls, tile roofs and internal courtyards that retain the original design of the viceroyal era.
