I personally guide this entire 3-day adventure from start to finish — no handovers, no crowds, no tourist routes. This is my land and my trail, and I guide you like close friends.
We begin with a peaceful boat ride across the Bowatenne Reservoir as Arangala Rock rises ahead. That evening, we return to my private forest-side villa, DropHaus. Your group has the entire place to yourselves — no strangers, no noise. We relax, enjoy a BBQ dinner, share music, and settle into the forest.
On Day 2, I lead you on a hike through untouched terrain. We reach the summit with daylight to spare, set up camp, and witness a magical sunset as the sky turns gold below. At night, we share a campfire dinner under a sky full of stars.
On the final morning, we wake before sunrise. As the first light breaks and clouds move beneath us, the moment is quiet and unforgettable. We descend and return to DropHaus for a shower and breakfast.
This is not a packaged tour — it’s a wilderness experience truly.!!
I provide pickup from selected meeting points in Dambulla and Matale. If you’re staying elsewhere, you’re welcome to meet me directly at DropHaus, Naula. I’ll share the exact timing and final instructions via WhatsApp after booking.
I meet travelers at DropHaus, my private forest-side villa in Naula. Please search ‘DropHaus Naula’ on Google Maps. The property is located near Arangala Rock Mountain. I’ll share final arrival instructions and contact details after booking.
begin the journey with a peaceful boat ride across the scenic Bowatenna Reservoir. Surrounded by calm waters, lush greenery, and wide-open views of Arangala Rock Mountain, this experience sets the tone for the adventure ahead. The slow ride allows travelers to disconnect, enjoy the silence of nature, spot local birdlife, and take in the raw beauty of the reservoir. It’s a calm and grounding introduction before moving deeper into the Arangala wilderness and starting the hike and camping experience.
After breakfast, I lead the group on a guided hike to the untouched summit of Arangala Rock Mountain. The 5-6 hour ascent takes us through dense forest, natural trails, and remote landscapes rarely visited by tourists. Along the way, I share local knowledge about the terrain, wildlife, and the history of the area while maintaining a safe and steady pace. As we climb higher, the views gradually open up, revealing wide panoramas of forests, reservoirs, and distant mountain ranges. By late afternoon, we reach the summit and settle in to witness a magical sunset, as the sky transforms with golden and deep orange colors and the entire valley falls into silence. Watching the sun disappear beyond the horizon from this remote peak is one of the most unforgettable moments of the journey.
I wake the group before dawn and guide them to the best viewpoint on the summit, where we witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises in Sri Lanka’s central heartland. As the first light spreads across the island, the landscape below slowly comes alive—mist drifting through forests, distant lakes glowing, and complete silence broken only by nature. Standing at the heart of Sri Lanka, this moment feels deeply powerful and personal. We spend time at the summit enjoying panoramic views, quiet reflection, and unforgettable photo opportunities before beginning our descent. This sunrise experience is raw, peaceful, and something very few travelers ever get to experience in such a remote, untouched setting.
