The journey begins at the world-renowned Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, where visitors will witness the awe-inspiring subterranean army of the Qin Dynasty. Over 7,000 life sized terracotta soldiers, horses, and chariots are displayed across three main burial pits, showcasing the military might of ancient China. Accompanied by expert narration, travelers will gain deep insights into the archaeological discovery process, the intricate craftsmanship, and the military system of the Qin Dynasty, with opportunities to photograph famous figures like the kneeling archer.
Next, visitors will ascend the Xi'an City Wall, the largest and best-preserved ancient defensive system from the Ming Dynasty still existing in China. The complete moat, imposing watchtowers, and defensive structures can be observed. Travelers may choose to walk or rent a bicycle to stroll along the broad wall top, enjoying a unique panoramic view where the ancient city layout blends with the modern urban landscape.
The tour continues to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a Tang Dynasty Buddhist brick pagoda with a history of over 1,300 years, located within the Da Ci'en Temple complex. Visitors will explore the site where the renowned monk Xuanzang translated Buddhist scriptures, learning about the historical transmission of Buddhism to China via the Silk Road and its flourishing during the Tang Dynasty, while experiencing the solemn and tranquil atmosphere of this cultural heritage site.
The itinerary also includes a visit to the historic Muslim Quarter, a famous Muslim neighborhood in Xi'an. Lined with traditional snack stalls, handicraft shops, and spice stores, the area is vibrant with local life. Travelers can freely explore, sampling authentic Xi'an snacks like roujiamo and liangpi, experiencing multicultural integration, and purchasing locally crafted souvenirs.
In the evening, visitors may choose between two spectacular Tang Dynasty performances. "Tang Dynasty Music and Dance" is a large-scale classical performance reconstructed based on historical murals and records, featuring artists in elaborate costumes playing replica Tang instruments, offering audiences a magnificent artistic feast. The "Silk Road" themed musical employs modern stage techniques such as rotating stages and realistic props, vividly recreating the historical narrative of Chang'an as the Silk Road's starting point through a fusion of music, dance, and storytelling. Both performances provide an immersive experience into the splendid culture of the Tang Dynasty's golden age.
