Enhance your landscape photography skills in the stunning Joshua Tree National Park during the afternoon of October 9, 2026. This four-hour workshop, led by Mitch Miller, a seasoned photographer with over 30 years of experience in the park, focuses on composition techniques to capture the beauty of the landscape in the lead up to golden hour and sunset. Discover hidden gems of the park, often overlooked in guidebooks, and refine your artistic eye under expert guidance.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Enter the large parking lot immediately south of the Joshua Tree National Park visitor center. We will meet in the back of the lot. Your guide drives a red Subaru Ascent.
What to expect
For those settings where you want people to feel how you felt in the moment, I recommend 14-35 mm focal length lenses. These wider lenses offer context of the landscape well.
Your primary subject matter will be Joshua trees, monzogranite rock boulders and outcrops, a variety of cactus, and sunset.
Drive time is not included in length of activity.
