We start Sailing in the Cumayasa Harbor. This is located on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, near the mouth of the Cumayasa River. It is a small, quiet harbor mainly used for local trade, but you can also find sailing yachts and catamarans here. The surrounding mangroves provide natural protection from storms, making it a calm and sheltered spot.

When we arrive in front of Catalina Island, we drop anchor. Here you can swim and snorkel in the clear Caribbean waters. During this time, the skipper prepares a fresh, delicious meal on board with great care and love. Wine and beer are also available on board, so you won’t miss a thing. We anchor very close to the beach, so you can swim ashore and explore the island on foot. After we enjoy our meal, we set the sails and return to the harbor, sailing only with the wind for a relaxed journey back. The return sail takes about 2 hours, depending on wind and sea conditions. You’re welcome to join in, help set the sails, and even learn how to steer a sailing yacht if you like.
