  The Grand Palace

  Begin with Bangkok’s most important royal complex and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Walk through richly decorated courtyards, golden chedis and ceremonial buildings while your guide explains the founding of Bangkok and the role of the monarchy in Thai history. Inside Wat Phra Kaew, see the highly revered Emerald Buddha, one of Thailand’s most sacred religious images. Please note that strict dress regulations apply at the Grand Palace.

  Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan

  Continue to Wat Pho, one of Bangkok’s oldest and most important temple complexes. See the enormous Reclining Buddha, explore courtyards filled with decorated chedis and learn how the temple became associated with traditional knowledge and Thai massage. Your guide will point out details that are easily missed when visiting independently.

  Temple Of Dawn (Wat Arun)

  Cross the Chao Phraya River to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. Admire its tall central prang, decorated with intricate porcelain and ceramic details, and explore the riverside grounds. The temple provides one of the most recognizable views in Bangkok and a striking contrast to the golden architecture of the Grand Palace.

  The Golden Mount (Wat Saket)

  Follow the gently winding path to the top of the Golden Mount, passing bells, shaded corners and temple buildings along the way. Its quieter setting offers a peaceful conclusion after the city’s busier landmarks.
