Welcome to Teotihuacan, the enigmatic city of the gods or where men become gods a name that the Aztecs give it a century after its heyday, marveling at its colossal ruins. This metropolis declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 represents the most important archaeological vestige of central Mexico and one of the largest and most influential cities in pre-Hispanic antiquity. Flowering from about 150 BC and reaching its splendor between 150 and 650 AD. Teotihuacán was a cosmopolitan and multi-technical urban center that surpassed in size many European cities in its time, housing between 100,000 and 200,000 inhabitants at its peak. His influence spread throughout Mesoamerica from Tikal to the Gulf of Mexico through trade and possibly political control. The design of the city is a testament to advanced urban planning and astronomical knowledge.
