We begin in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where the city feels most alive and authentic. Walking through its narrow streets, you’ll notice how each area still reflects its historical trade roots - metalwork, textiles, street food, and small family businesses operating side by side. The atmosphere is dynamic: scooters moving through tight spaces, locals setting up small food stalls, and everyday life happening at street level.
This part of Hanoi offers a rare and unforgettable contrast - residential life built directly around active railway tracks. Small cafés, homes, and daily routines exist just inches from where trains pass. Depending on access and timing, we explore the railway street itself or nearby hidden alleys and cafés that preserve the same atmosphere. Sitting here with a coffee or simply observing daily life gives a very different perspective of the city - unexpected, local, and visually striking.
After the intensity of the Old Quarter, we transition to Hoan Kiem Lake - a place that feels calm, open, and culturally significant. Locals come here to walk, relax, and exercise, especially in the early morning and late afternoon.
We continue to one of Hanoi’s most important historical sites - the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Unlike the busy streets, this location offers structured beauty: symmetrical courtyards, traditional gates, stone tablets, and well-preserved architecture.
We then leave the dense city center and move toward West Lake, where Hanoi opens up into a more spacious and relaxed environment. The air feels different, the pace slows down, and the views become wider.
To finish the tour, we stop at a carefully selected local café - either hidden, aesthetic, or with a unique view. Here you can try traditional Vietnamese coffee, including the famous egg coffee.
