Departure from Marrakech is around 9:00 am. Travel toward the High Atlas Mountains, passing through Tahnaouet, where a local market takes place on Tuesdays. Continue through the Ghighaya Valley and dramatic Moulay Brahim Gorges, offering beautiful views of villages, river valleys, and mountain landscapes. Along the way, see terraced fields, walnut trees, and orchards of cherries and apples. Several short stops are made for photos and to enjoy the scenery.
Arrive in Asni village and explore the local area. If your tour is on a Saturday, visit the weekly Berber market, one of the most authentic in the region. The market attracts Berber families from surrounding villages who come to buy and sell fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, spices, household goods, and livestock. Your guide will help navigate the market and explain local customs, traditions, and daily life.
Continue to the mountain village of Imlil, at the foothills of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak. From Imlil, ride a mule or walk with a local guide to reach Aroumd. The trail passes terraced gardens, stone houses, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the valley. In Aroumd, enjoy a traditional three-course lunch in a Berber home or on a terrace with stunning mountain views. After lunch, take a short walk and relax before returning to Imlil.
After completing the visit in Imlil, the return journey to Marrakech begins in the afternoon. You will drive back through the Atlas Mountains, enjoying final views of the landscape before being dropped off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
