Let's meet you outside Starbucks. I'll usually wear a straw hat.
We will finish not far from our Check-out point, at the strategic crossroads of the Flon district, Lausanne’s new leisure district and public transport hub. I can show you another point of arrival at your convenience.

We will cross the bridge connecting the two historic hills of Lausanne. We will talk about the topography of Lausanne and the development of urban infrastructure to adapt to it.

The cathedral is THE iconic building of Lausanne. We discovered the stages and elements of its construction as well as the many historical events & anecdotes related to it. An outdoor tour of the esplanade with its panoramic view of the city and a short inside tour of the building are on the program.

The castle marks the northern limit of the city, at the top of the Cité hill. This place of power, past and present, is the ideal place to describe the political evolution of the city and canton in the Middle Ages and modern times. We will also get to know THE historical hero of the canton: Major DAVEL, key figure in the independence of the "Pays de Vaud".

This old industrial district has been completely renovated in the 21st century. Its history is rich and marked a decisive stage in the historical development of Lausanne during the Swiss industrial revolution, between the 19th and 20th centuries. We can leave at this strategic location, with Tips for Things to Do or Other Later for the rest of your trip.

If you want to finish the tour with a drink (to buy by yourself) and on a more informal moment , I would be happy to take a moment to relax with you, to give advice on additional Things to do, other information or just enjoy the rest of the day.
