Inverness Food and Drink Tasting Experience

3 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

3 hours - 5 venues - 18 food & drink tastings

Discover Inverness one bite at a time! Take a relaxing stroll around the city centre, visit hand-picked independent eateries, taste iconic Scottish food and drinks, savour exceptional local produce. Let me show you why I love being able to call this beautiful city ‘home’.

And a Taste the Highlands food & drink tour is about more than what’s on your plate:

It’s a chance to discover Inverness through its people, history and traditions, and to hear the stories behind the produce you'll taste and venues you'll visit.

At a leisurely pace, and with a small group of no more than 12 guests, there’s plenty of time to ask questions, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy each stop without feeling rushed.

By joining Taste the Highlands, you’ll support independent businesses from across the Scottish Highlands, as well as a local, female-owned tour company dedicated to sharing the city’s food, history and hospitality with visitors.

What to expect

A taste of what's to come..! Dive straight into Scottish savoury pie culture at a family-run bakery that’s been feeding locals for generations. Visit the Victorian Market’s Food & Drink Hall to savour Scottish seafood and sample a well-known Highland “pudding”. Travel from the coast to the land at a local organic craft brewery, where you’ll enjoy craft beer and pizza made with produce grown at the brewery farm and market garden. Next you'll taste the produce of some of the fantastic local artisanal producers who call Inverness and the Highlands home, including cheeses, cured meats and salmon. And, of course, it would be rude of me not to pour you a glass of wine to go with it! Then our time together culminates with two iconic Scottish dishes - Cullen Skink & haggis (though perhaps not as it's usually known), plus a wee dram of something special before we say ‘haste ye back’. Whether it’s your first visit to Scotland or you’re looking to experience the city from a different perspective, come hungry, and ready to discover Inverness one bite at a time.
