Your day begins at Zanganito, a small family-run honey farm, where your private host suits you up in full protective gear before you walk among European honeybees and rare native stingless bees, cut fresh honeycomb, and bottle your own honey to take home. From there, you sit at the wheel with Valentin Lopez, whose family workshop has preserved San Juan de Oriente's ancestral ceramic tradition for 20+ years and welcomed tour operators from around the world - shaping clay and joining the marimba-accompanied mud-dancing tradition before touring his kiln. The afternoon unfolds at a family-run chicheria, where Dona Lona pours her own Chicha Bruja, a corn recipe inherited from her ancestors, as you take in the panoramic view over Apoyo Lagoon, before a final stop among vivid sunflower fields.
