This experience is designed for travelers who want a calmer and more authentic Northern Lights evening. Instead of chasing the Aurora by road, we travel to the quiet Malangen fjords, far from city lights, where conditions for Northern Lights viewing are often better.
The tour is operated in small groups for comfort and quality, with local guides who share insight into Arctic nature and the Northern Lights. The evening is spent at a cozy fjord-side location, where guests enjoy a warm Arctic dinner, guided activities and time to relax while waiting for the Aurora under the Arctic sky.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
We will pick up travellers outside the Prostneset Harbour and Bus terminal. Our bus is clearly marked with the Malangen Arctic Experience logo. Pick-up point is just outside the Magic Ice bar.

Travel through the scenic Malangen fjord region, known for its dramatic Arctic landscapes, fjords, mountains and coastal villages. The journey takes you from Tromsø across Kvaløya and through the Rya Tunnel to the Malangen peninsula, passing small settlements along the fjord with beautiful photo opportunities along the way. Upon arrival in Malangen, guests spend the evening in a quiet Arctic setting with minimal light pollution — ideal conditions for Northern Lights viewing. Here you will enjoy a warm Arctic dinner and guided activities while waiting for the Aurora to appear over the fjord and surrounding mountains.

Finnvikhaugen Rooms is a cozy Arctic venue located by the Malangen fjord, surrounded by mountains and open nature. This is where guests spend the main part of the evening, enjoying a warm Arctic dinner and guided activities in a peaceful setting far from city lights. With minimal light pollution and open views toward the fjord and sky, Finnvikhaugen offers excellent conditions for Northern Lights viewing. Guests can relax indoors or step outside to watch the Aurora when it appears.
